Sr. Developer, Java EE[MA1] Valtech is looking for an experienced Senior Developer who is an active participant involved in the day to day activities of an Agile project delivery team. This role brings extensive and practical experience with the techniques and approaches required in delivering Agile projects using Java EE technologies. Sr. Developers are expected to be able to rapidly establish delivery of working software and have a solid understanding of the disciplines required to deliver within an Agile environment. Sr. Developers interact with Valtech clients to mentor, consult, and assist them in making appropriate technology and process decisions. Often Sr. Developers Consultants will mentor and coach the client employees in delivering Agile project solutions.[MA1] Role - Develop and maintain architecturally sound, modular, component-driven software applications.
- Help shape requirements and tests that define acceptance criteria for project features.
- Drive the design of software systems to meet defined acceptance criteria.
- Provide direction to and mentoring for less experienced members of the staff.
- Identify risks that might impact the success of the project and mitigate those risks through application of experience and knowledge.
- Maintain system and design documentation and prepare materials for project reviews.
- Support the implementation, UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and production release for the project.
- Lead a team of developers through development iterations using an agile software development approach.
- Act as a role model and advocate for best practices around test-driven development, agile software development, and customer-centric software.
Requirements - Must have knowledge of software development best practices, including test-driven development, Agile, and/or other rapid application development methodologies.
- 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in software application development.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in application systems design and use of architecture frameworks.
- Project Lead on two or more client facing project engagements.
- Experience using Java EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Ant, Maven, Eclipse, or other similar tools and libraries.
- Experience with integration technologies such as MQ Series, Web Services, or EJB and concepts such as RAS (Reliability, Availability and Scalability)
- Experience with design patterns, estimation, backlog, and tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of OOA&D and requirements process.
- Use of Rally or other Agile project management tools.

Education/Experience - Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline. Graduate Degree a plus.
- Practicing developer with 7-12 years project experience, with 2 years of advanced programming, architecture and design experience.
- Experience with structured methodologies (Agile, Lean, UP) preferred.
Travel/Location This position will require travel 8 weeks of travel to Philadelphia, PA - afterwords based in Valtech's development center in Oklahoma City. Relocation assistance is available. Contact Info: Susie D. Olson
