One of the goals of the OKC JUG is connecting employers with potential employees. To that end, we want to make that connection as easy as possible, so we allow area businesses and recruiters to post job openings on the site, which JUG members then see either in the updates on the home page or in the RSS feeds. How, then, does one get a job posted on the site? This article will describe that simple process.
If you have never posted a job on the site before, follow these steps first (if you already have a login with the appropriate permissions, skip to the next section): - Create a login to the site.
- Once the login has been created and activated, contact the Steering Committee and request the "author" role. This role is necessary for submitting the request. (We would like to remove this step, but we have not been able to determine how to make the system do so). This process will only need to be done once, after you sign up.
If you already have a login with the correct permissions:
- Log in to the site
- Click the Submit News link in the User Menu
- Enter the a descriptive title for the posting. The company name and type of position are often used.
- Select the "Job Posting" category
- Enter the job description in just the Intro Text box.
- Click the submit button.
- Contact the Steering Committee again, and someone will make any formatting changes necessary and approve the post.
